What if a channel starts choppy or frozen?

Rivue checks the first ten seconds and re-opens the channel by itself.

iPhoneiPadMacApple TV

Sometimes a live channel opens badly — stuttering pictures or a frozen frame — even though your connection is fine. Usually the stream got off on the wrong foot.

What Rivue does on its own

Rivue watches the first ten seconds after every tune. If the picture is not keeping up — too few frames arriving, or many being dropped — it quietly re-opens the channel once. Most rough starts smooth out right there, without you touching anything.

What to try if it does not

  1. Switch away and back to the channel — a fresh tune often lands on a better connection.
  2. If you use several playlists, long-press the channel and check Sources for another copy (with Combined Mode the best copy is picked for you).
  3. Look for the CPU decoding badge — if it shows, this stream uses a format your device decodes in software; see that guide.
Tip — If it keeps happening, send us a playback log right after the problem: open SettingsPlaylists & SourcesDiagnosticsShare Playback Log and email it to support@rivue.tv. The log records what the player actually did, which is what pins down the cause. (Log sharing is available on iPhone, iPad and Mac.)
