Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 11, 2026
1. Who We Are
Rivue is built by FaridsFormula LLC (Nevada, USA). This policy explains what information the Rivue app (iPhone, iPad, Mac) and the rivue.tv website handle, and your choices. Questions: hello@rivue.tv.
2. Information We Handle
Data that stays on your device
The App stores your configuration and activity locally on your device, including: content sources and playlists you add, watch history and resume positions, favorites and watchlists, recordings and downloads, EPG data, and app settings. We do not receive this data and cannot see it.
Account data (optional)
If you create a Rivue account, we collect your email address and a credential used to authenticate you (your password is processed by our authentication provider; we never store it in plain text). With an account, the App syncs a limited set of app data between your devices — watch progress, watchlist, favorites, saved layouts, and similar app state. Sync data is stored in our backend (Google Firebase) solely to provide the feature.
What we deliberately do not collect
- No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no data brokers.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the App.
- No knowledge of the content sources you configure — your sources and streams are accessed directly from your devices, not through our servers.
- Anything you mark Private in the App (private channels, private history) is never written to sync and never leaves your device.
3. Third-Party Services the App Talks To
Depending on how you use the App, your device communicates directly with:
- Your own content providers — when you add a source, your device connects to it directly. Their privacy practices are their own.
- TMDB — the App queries The Movie Database to fetch artwork, cast, and metadata for titles in your library. These queries include title names but no account identity. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- Trakt — only if you connect your Trakt account, the App scrobbles watch activity to your Trakt profile under Trakt's privacy policy. Disconnect at any time in Settings.
- Google Firebase — authentication and sync for optional accounts, as described above.
- Apple — standard App Store and OS services (e.g., push notifications if you enable them).
4. Library Sharing
If you enable Library Sharing, your device runs a local server so that your other devices (or devices signed into your account, if you require sign-in) can browse and stream that device's library on your network. This is your data moving between your devices; it does not pass through our servers. If you publish a public address for remote access, you control that address and can unpublish it at any time.
5. The Website
rivue.tv is a static site served by Cloudflare. It sets no marketing cookies and runs no analytics scripts. Cloudflare may process standard server logs (IP address, user agent) to serve and secure the site. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives standard web request data.
Beta signups
If you request beta access through the form on rivue.tv, we collect what you submit — your email address and, optionally, your name, how you heard about Rivue, what you use today, the features you're interested in, and the devices you own — along with your country and browser user agent. We use this to manage the beta program and, with your consent (the checkbox on the form), to send you product emails about beta access, updates, features, and launch news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by writing to hello@rivue.tv, and you can ask us to delete your signup entirely. Signup data is stored with Cloudflare and is not sold or shared with anyone.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- On-device data is yours; deleting the App deletes it.
- Account and sync data are retained while your account exists. Deleting your account (in the App: Settings → Account → Delete Account) permanently deletes your account record and synced app data from our backend.
- We retain email correspondence you send us only as long as needed to handle it.
7. Security
Account authentication and sync use encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we design Rivue so that the most sensitive data — your viewing activity — does not need to leave your device at all unless you opt into sync.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Profiles and parental controls are provided so adults can manage household viewing. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA/UK under GDPR and California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we hold so little — at most your email address and synced app state — the fastest path is usually in-app account deletion. For anything else, email hello@rivue.tv and we will respond within the time required by law. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above and, where appropriate, notice in the App.
