Auto-record rules

Type a show or keyword once — Rivue records every matching airing.

An auto-record rule watches your guide for you. Add a word or a show name, and every upcoming program that matches gets scheduled automatically.

  1. Open SettingsSports & RecordingAuto-Record.
  2. Type a show or keyword and add it. "Title contains" rules match the words anywhere in a program title.
  3. Or start from the guide: open a program and choose All Airings — that creates an exact-title rule for that show.
  4. Under each rule, Rivue previews exactly what it found: "N upcoming airings will record" — expand it to see each program, channel and time.

How scheduling works

Rules look 7 days ahead and re-check every 30 minutes. When many channels carry the same airing, Rivue records one copy — in the guide, a filled red dot means "records on this channel", and a hollow red ring means "this airing records from another copy of the channel", so nothing looks missed.

Deleted stays deleted

If you cancel or delete an airing a rule scheduled, the rule does not quietly re-add it — that specific airing stays cancelled, on every channel that carries it. Later airings of the same show still record normally. The rule itself stays on until you switch it off or delete it.

Tip — A rule with no matches shows "No upcoming airings match in your TV Guide data" — it will start recording as soon as a matching program appears in the guide.
